I suppose you could say I was surprised by the severity of the rain.

Your rain. & my icicles are melting. Hi.  From the land of long-overdue hellos
here’s another.  The world is falling apart again while listlessly we linger just outside of
periphery.  Remember the blue at that museum in Long Island City?  I don’t. But feel like
some trickle of memory real or maneuvered is necessary because we are slipping & after so
much slipping we become the hole. 

That is to say, I love the look of an exposed back during those first days of spring.  Maybe
this is over-telling but we are so many variations of others. Last night while eating a burrito
& drinking beer my other variation was writing this to you. It is not spring. My dear, a
drifting into silence.

of communal fries in the middle of their table — girls who look exactly alike shuffle

in: matching footsteps, matching hair, a pair — of glasses on thin faces, tote bag over right

shoulder — the first time i gave birth i thought of aeroplanes — the second time it was a

ripped page —

as my body dislodges its foreign objects the

lights in the other room remain
